Modificación del rótulo de una solución balanceada tras la detección de falsos positivos en el ensayo de galactomananos
Abstract
Invasive aspergillosis is a common cause of morbidity - mortality in oncohematological patients. Serum detection of galactomanans has been shown to correlate with the evolution of the infection and, therefore, with the prognosis of the patient who carries it. This paper, describes a number of cases with detection of this marker in patients assisted at the bone marrow transplant unit of our institution hydrated with polyelectrolytic solution based on gluconate of national manufacture. In most cases, galactomanans detection showed no clinical correlation. An investigation was carried out, determining the polyeletrolytic solution as a causal agent. We request the laboratory producing it to modify the label following these findings.
